Covid – 19 update
If you are interested in placing your loved one in one off our homes we are really pleased to announce that we will be able to offer internal viewings. In order to keep everyone a safe as possible we will need take some precautionary measures in advance.
A community pcr test is required three days prior to the day of viewing. We can help you with this if required. Following a pcr test you will be required to have a lfd test half an hr before your appointment, if both tests are negative you will be welcomed into the home wearing full ppe.
This is a step in the right direction for us and we are aware it has been a difficult time not being able to view the potential home for your loved one.
Please ring to discuss this with the management team if you are interested.
UPDATE DEC 2020
Dear Families and Friends,
We are pleased to announce that following the Covid-19 Winter Testing Update, the National Testing Programme has started to roll-out visitor testing in care homes. This will enable care homes to offer regular testing of visitors, and when combined with other infection prevention and control measures (such as PPE), can support more meaningful visits with loved ones. We are currently awaiting our testing kits and hope these will arrive by Monday, 7th December.
Where possible we expect to achieve 6 – 8 visits per day, with 30 minutes allocated for the testing, 20 minutes for the visit and 10 minutes room clean. We will need to adhere strictly to the times in order to ensure we are able to allow visiting to as many as possible. We have recruited extra team members to support the visiting and they will have undertaken specialist training to ensure everyones safety during this time.
We have been given the green light to offer garden room/pod Visiting and this is now underway. We have complete confidence that this means of visiting prohibits any transmission of the virus and provides a safe space for families and residents. For more information please contact your relevant home over the phone.
As always, our priority is to ensure that our residents continue to live safely and comfortably. We continue to emphasise infection prevention measures whilst continuing to deliver meaningful activities and additional means of keeping our residents active and happy. Despite limits to physical meetings, we are still seeking out other means of maintaining contact- whether through phone calls, Zoom, or Facetime. We know that family interaction is crucial for our residents and their wellbeing, and so are doing our best to make sure this is upheld in our homes.
Our homes continue to be open for new admissions. We are working closely with our local authorities to be made aware of individuals who need support or are struggling because of self-isolation. If you feel that a loved one could benefit from being admitted into one our homes during this time, please contact your chosen home for details on admissions and viewings which can be undertaken by a virtual tour with one of our senior team.
We hope this message brings you some comfort but understand that families will continue to be concerned during these uncertain times. As such, we encourage you to get in contact with us at either of our homes. For Atherton, please call us on 01942 875054 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For Westhoughton, please call us on 01942 819207 or email email@example.com.
We wish you all the very best during these times and will continue to keep you updated.
